Yes, that’s me tap dancing. Dancing was my first passion in life. I started when I was 8 years old and never stopped. I rent the dance studio at Art Serve every week and my friend Joan and I tap our hearts out. I created one of the steps, Joan did the other and the last step was choregraphed by one of our friends and teacher, David Viner.

Each month they will be featuring a different artist with a kick-off party in the fun atmosphere of their creative bar.
This month it’s Artist Steven Sylvester with a collection of his ceramic dresses. If you are not familiar with his work then you are in for a treat. In this exhibit are two of his full size dresses made of ceramic and wire and about 20 of his small, very organic dresses. His dresses are very collectible and this current exhibit has a varied assortment to choose from.
Graduates of the Broward Cultural Division’s “Artists as Entrepreneurs Insitute” program had their work on display at Gallery 6 located in the downtown Fort Lauderdale branch of the Broward County Library. Exhibition runs through February 23rd.
On December 8th Richard Wright was named the 25th winner of the Turner prize, Britain’s most prestigious art award, for his spectacular gold-leaf mural.
Those who know me know of my obsession with the mirror image, so I would love a trip to London to see this. Created in gold-leaf makes it hard to photograph. Looks intriguing.

He was a postal clerk and she was a librarian. Of modest means but they managed to build a vast collection of contemporary art. Their story is incredible. They lived on Dorothy’s salary and used Herb’s salary to by art.
I’m happy to say that I’m one of the artists currently exhibiting at the new Gallery 101 in Fort Lauderdale. The Gallery opened on August22nd with a spectacular event. Two more events followed, with the launching of the Culture Network and the fundraising event for Breast Cancer research. The gallery has over 60 local South Florida Artists. Last year I participated in the Artist as Entrepreneur Institute that is generously presented by Broward County Cultural Division. I highly recommend this program for all local artists. The next session starts next Saturday, June 6th. Click here for more information.
I’m pleased to announce that I will be represented by Art Fusion Gallery in the Miami Design District. My work will on exhibit the entire months of April, May and June. The second Saturday of each month there will be an opening reception during Art Walk. Art Fusion Gallery is a “Chelsea Style” gallery space with 4,000 sq ft filled with art from around the globe.

I have been invited to participate in an Art Show called Doing Business as… Artist Entrepreneurs. It will be held at Gallery 6 in the Ft. Lauderdale Main Library on Andrews Avenue. The exhibit runs January 11 thru February 21st. The opening is Wednesday, January 21st from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. All are welcome.
LeeAnna Yater, the Broward Cultural Arts grant recipient for the project will be curating the show with the assistance of Artist as Entrepreneurs Institute graduates: Virginia Fifield and Jacklyn Laflamme. They have selected 10 AEI graduates (including Yater, Laflamme, & Fifield) to display artwork in this exhibition.
