I’m proud to be included in the new Art Night Pompano presented by Artistic Productions and located at the Pompano Citi Centre. Other artists in this event are Gisele Haselbarth, Valintine Keating, Lena Luckey, Kurt Merkel and Jackie Tufford. There will be music in the courtyard, featuring Stephen Minotti and Glenn Goss.

Thank you to Charlotte Sundquist for your hard work putting this event together and including me in this talented group of artists.

Artist Purvis Young Dead at 67

This past Saturday night my opening at Kevro’s went without a hitch. Wish you all could have been there. The turn out was decent despite the fact that the second Saturday night in South Florida is event night. My parents could be there since it was located in Palm Beach County. I was blessed with one sale so far. The show will hang until April 22nd so if you’re in Delray stop by.

Join me for my first solo show at Kevro’s Art Bar in Delray Beach, Florida. This is an exhibit of my new works called Everyday Things. Not a flower in sight. I share the evening at Kevro’s with Karen from Pink Slip Threads (a boutique in Lighthouse Point). She is celebrating her store’s anniversary from 8-10 with my show from 7-9 pm.

I will be there from 7-11pm and hope you can be there. Kevro’s is a cool place. You’ll enjoy it.

The original artists from the Doing Business As….Artist Entrepreneurs are doing it again. We will be exhibiting at Gallery 101 in Fort Lauderdale, March 6th through 19th. Our Opening night is March 6th, Refreshments will be served.

Yes, that’s me tap dancing. Dancing was my first passion in life. I started when I was 8 years old and never stopped. I rent the dance studio at Art Serve every week and my friend Joan and I tap our hearts out. I created one of the steps, Joan did the other and the last step was choregraphed by one of our friends and teacher, David Viner.

You haven’t been to Kevro’s Art Bar in Delray Beach? What are you waiting for?
Each month they will be featuring a different artist with a kick-off party in the fun atmosphere of their creative bar.

This month it’s Artist Steven Sylvester with a collection of his ceramic dresses. If you are not familiar with his work then you are in for a treat. In this exhibit are two of his full size dresses made of ceramic and wire and about 20 of his small, very organic dresses. His dresses are very collectible and this current exhibit has a varied assortment to choose from.

DBA 2010 at Gallery 6 in Fort Lauderdale

Graduates of the Broward Cultural Division’s “Artists as Entrepreneurs Insitute” program had their work on display at Gallery 6 located in the downtown Fort Lauderdale branch of the Broward County Library. Exhibition runs through February 23rd.

Richard Wright wins the Turner Prize

On December 8th Richard Wright was named the 25th winner of the Turner prize, Britain’s most prestigious art award, for his spectacular gold-leaf mural.

Those who know me know of my obsession with the mirror image, so I would love a trip to London to see this. Created in gold-leaf makes it hard to photograph. Looks intriguing.
