Artist Statement

With so much conflict in the world, my aim is to discover beauty, peace and harmony and capture the magic of it.

I have two obsessions in my lifetime of work, the mirror image and the checker board. For me the mirror image speaks of this dimension and the mystery of possibly another dimension unknown to us. The Checkerboard pattern grounds the composition. Pulls it all together and adds a graphic quality.

More recently I’m experimenting with mixed media painting and exploring the fractal nature of the mosaic image. My mosaics are created with custom printed fabrics.

My vision is that art should not represent life as it really is but as life is in imagination. The creative power is in the imagination of the viewer. The artist is just doing their “thing”. Compelled to create what comes naturally. A gift from God.
