I was looking to do a painting on the subject of strength and I was about the start researching the thoughts when a Facebook friend posted somethings that was exactly what this painting was about. She is a spoken word artist and had a trying year that would cause a breakdown for most people. I asked her permission and was thankful she agreed. The universe brought her to me.
Thoughts included in the painting (fabric mosaic):
“I’m proud of me. with the weight of the world on my shoulders I make it look easy. I do what I gotta do. I pursue my dreams. I walk in my purpose. I ain’t got nothing, but still find ways to give. I know who I am. I am loyal. Faithful. I keep my word. Even when I don’t feel like it, I smile. I work on my craft. I try to be a good friend. I’m an amazing wife and mother. I hold myself accountable. I still have faith. I still laugh. I cry, then I move on. I conqueror it all. I always win. I always know its gonna be ok. I ain’t saying I’m the best, but many would have folded by now.”
